Thousands of friends, families and neighbors came together in the City of North Salt Lake to celebrate our nation’s independence!

The recently renamed Eaglewood Auto Fest kicked things off Friday night with more than 400 vehicles including exotics, classics, foreign, muscle, antique, trucks, and even a helicopter showing off at the beautiful Eaglewood Golf Course! For 11 years, vehicles and their enthusiasts have been coming from all over the state for this fun, social, casual event!

Runners, athletes, shoppers and fun-seekers flocked to Legacy Park Saturday morning for what had all the makings of a FIRST RATE city festival! Did you catch the cover photo of the July newsletter? The foam cannon was a clear favorite along with bounce houses, climbing wall, fun music and magic show! We introduced three different races this year and feedback has been positive about the additional options. A large variety of vendors were on-hand with handmade goods, jewelry, artwork, food and more. We expect this festival morning event to be bigger and better next year!

Did you know the city’s fireworks show began in 1997? For 25 years, the City of North Salt Lake has been bringing this patriotic pyrotechnic party to the community and it’s exciting to see the tradition continue! Crowds gathered early this year to test their decision-making abilities amongst 20 different food trucks flanking the closed portion of Eagleridge Drive. Remote control airplanes and skydivers with American flags once again zipped across the golf course pond as nervous onlookers finally relaxed as they landed safely.

Did someone call a doctor? We did! “The Dance Doctors” took to the stage and delighted the crowd with amazing talent, fun personalities and a great variety of music that beckoned toe-tapping, head-bobbing and all-out dancing! Who knew you could have so much fun on a driving range?

Ten o-clock pm. CUE THE COUNTDOWN! 10..9..8..7..Emcee duties for the evening were performed by Dave Fox, KUTV Sports Anchor and NSL resident… 6..5..4… Voices joined in unison for 3..2..1.. Then, backed by a lineup of patriotic tunes (selected by committee chair, Dan Checketts), crowds were treated to one of the biggest, brightest and most spectacular fireworks displays in the state!

Mayor Horrocks, the City Council and City Staff wish to thank all of the volunteers, city committees, police and fire departments and local business sponsors for making Liberty Fest 22 possible!
